Competition Team (Kids + Teens)

Structured training for confident, prepared competitors.

If your child wants to compete—or you want a focused, disciplined program that builds confidence—Houzn’s Competition Team gives them a coached plan, a strong culture, and the right peer group. Teams are organized by experience and commitment, with a January–October season.

  • Coach-led structure (not chaotic “fight gym” energy)

  • Culture built on discipline, respect, and personal responsibility

  • Progress you can measure: skills, composure, and performance readiness

We’ll confirm the best team placement after signup.

How the Competition Team works

Competitive Jiu Jitsu is built on consistency. Our competition classes are supplementary—they support your child’s regular training (they don’t replace it). We keep expectations clear so athletes stay safe, motivated, and progressing.

Season

The season runs January through October. Training is continuous year-round, with planned breaks as communicated by coaching staff.

The Team Handbook

For Elite Team rules and expectations—and general guidance that applies to all competition athletes and parents—please read the Houzn Team Handbook before committing.

Elite Team

Full commitment for serious youth competitors

Elite Team is our highest-commitment track for kids and teens who are ready to train consistently and compete throughout the season. Standards matter here—because they protect the team culture and keep athletes progressing safely.

  • Full season commitment (January–October)

  • Training + tournament participation expected (see handbook for full details)

  • Coach-led performance focus: strategy, composure, and accountability

Please review the Team Handbook before joining Elite Team. It outlines rules, expectations, and parent guidance.

Perfect for first tournaments, nerves, and specific skill gaps

B Team

Competition training with flexible tournament participation

B Team is for kids and teens who want competition-focused classes and a higher standard of training—while choosing tournaments based on readiness, school, and family schedule.

Includes:

  • Attend competition classes and build competition-ready fundamentals

  • Learn pacing, composure, and problem-solving under pressure

  • Tournament participation is flexible (handbook guidance still applies to athlete conduct and parent communication)

Best fit if you’re thinking:

  • “We want structure, but need flexibility.”

  • “My child is building confidence before a full season commitment.”

1:1 coaching accelerates comfort and performance

Prep Team (Entry Level)

A safe start for first-time youth competitors

Prep Team is the entry point for kids and teens who want to try competing. It’s designed to build fundamentals, confidence, and emotional control—without overwhelming them.

Program details:

  • Entry-level competition group

  • Attends competition classes twice per week

  • Focus on repeatable fundamentals and composure under pressure

What parents typically notice:

  • Better focus and follow-through

  • More confidence handling “hard things”
