Getting Started (Beginners)

Yes. Most new students start in Fundamentals. You’ll learn positions, movement, and safe training habits step-by-step with clear coaching and structure.

No. Jiu Jitsu is a skill—and you build conditioning as you train. Start where you are. Consistency comes first.

A coach-led warm-up, technique instruction, and guided partner work. You’ll never be expected to “know what to do” on day one—we’ll walk you through it.

Yes—Grace & Grit is women-only Jiu Jitsu focused on skill, confidence, and calm under pressure in a supportive environment.

Yes—Girl, Get Home Safe is a 6‑week women’s self-defense program with practical training, awareness, and strong fundamentals.
Trial Classes & Booking

Yes—Houzn offers a $30 Two‑Class Trial for all programs except Girl, Get Home Safe (women’s self-defense), which is a structured 6-week program.

Booking is strongly recommended so we can prepare for you and have the right uniform sizing ready.

That’s normal. You can go at your pace. Our job is to help you train safely and leave feeling better than when you arrived.
Uniforms & What to Wear (Gi + No‑Gi)

Yes. Houzn uniform is required for both Gi and No‑Gi classes. Uniforms are sold at the academy.

Start with Fundamentals unless a coach recommends otherwise. We’ll guide you into the right level so you progress with clarity and confidence.

Most people do best with 2–4 classes per week. The goal is sustainable consistency—progress you can keep.

Yes. If you’re on a 4, 8, or 12 classes/month plan, you can use credits within 4 weeks before the next tuition payment is processed. Credits do not roll over to the next month.
