Week 12 — Review: Clock Choke + Best Guard AttackTechniques
Referee / Submissions / Gi → Clock choke
Guard / Closed Guard / Attacks → Choice: cross choke/triangle/armbar (best one)
Key cues: clock = chin strap + walk around; no neck crank.
Common mistakes: pulling head sideways; losing shoulder pressure.
Positional sparring start: turtle/referee for clock; closed guard for choice attack.
To Win: finish or clean escape.
Full rounds focus rule: Standing start, but once on the ground bottom player must attempt the week’s guard attack first (triangle/loop/omoplata/cross choke, etc.) before switching goals.
BEGINNERS - Gi
CYCLE 1 (Weeks 1–12) — Foundations
Week 12 — Review + Add One SweepTechniques
Top / Side Control / Transitions → Side control to mount
Guard / Closed Guard / Sweeps → Lumberjack sweep
Key cues: mount = knees tight; lumberjack = control ankles, sit up.
Common mistakes: stations (mount escape / side escape / sweeps / pass-to-pin).
Sparring start (1:00/partner): start with seatbelt. Win: top hold 10 sec; bottom = turn in/escape.
